Back this summer... our tunnel lifts! Try them this weekend. 10am to 2pm Saturday. 10am to 3pm Sunday.
Hiking
Sir Sam’s is located amidst some of the most scenic terrain in Ontario. Enjoy the rugged beauty of the Haliburton Highlands through the remnants of what was once apple orchards and wheat fields. Take in the breathtaking panoramic views over Eagle and Moose Lakes once at the top. The beginner-friendly trail meanders up the hill with elevation changes and contains small rocks and roots in some areas.
Closed toe shoes are recommended. Dogs on leash are welcome. Enjoy a scenic picnic at any lookout location (as noted on the trail map) but please take all garbage with you and respect any wildlife you may encounter during your outing.

Trail Hours
Trails are open 24/7. Book your trail pass online or visit the Honour Box onsite to ride anytime. Payment for trail access is mandatory and a waiver must be completed for all participants. The chalet will not be open for washrooms or water refills outside of office hours.

Tunnel Lift
Back in operation this summer are our covered surface lifts! Shuttle to the top of the hill and enjoy all that Sir Sam’s has to offer without having to hike up. The tunnel provides one-way access up the hill. Once you've soaked in the views at each of our lookout locations, enjoy the gradual hike down the hill back to the chalet and parking lot.

First Time Hiking At Sir Sam's?
Start your trek by visiting the office or Honour Box for trail payment. The hike trail begins at the picnic table to the left of the Honour Box shed. Follow the ski poles along the grass cut trail and up through the forest until you reach the top of the hill. This takes the average hiker about 20 minutes. While at the top, visit the tower and each of the lookout locations that are pinpointed on the trail map and enjoy the view from all angles! To return to the chalet, hop back on the hiking trail and follow the ski poles down the same trail that you hiked up. If you shuttled up the hill using the tunnel, make your way past the tower towards the brown chairlift to find a ski pole along the hike trail and make your way down.
