Trail Fees

Fees subject to HST. Online sales subject to online booking fee charged by service provider.

Observation Tower Open:

Individual: $7.50

Family (up to 5 family members): $20

Children 5 and under: Free

Observation Tower Closed:

Individual: $5

Family (up to 5 family members): $15

Children 5 and under: Free

Hiking Season Pass: $75

​First Time Hiking At Sir Sam's?
  • Complete your waiver and trail payment online, at the office, or at the Honour Box

  • Find the trail head sign by the picnic table near the Yeti

  • Follow the ski poles and trail signs to stay on the trail

  • Add more to your experience by stopping at the various lookouts or enjoy the view from atop the Eagle View Observation Tower

  • To return to the parking lot, follow the same trail down the hill

Elevate your experience!

Hiking at Sir Sam's is more than just a walk through the woods! Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at a lookout, go birdwatching from the 60ft Eagle View Observation Tower, identify the flora along the trail, seek out wildlife that call the hill home, do an outdoor yoga session, bring your dog for a scenic morning walk, capture nature in a stunning photoshoot or simply breath in the fresh air and enjoy the view.

About Sir Sam's

Sir Sam’s is located amidst some of the most scenic terrain in Ontario. Enjoy the rugged beauty of the Haliburton Highlands through the remnants of what was once apple orchards and wheat fields. Take in the breathtaking panoramic views over Eagle and Moose Lakes once at the top. The beginner-friendly trail meanders up the hill with elevation changes and contains small rocks and roots in some areas. The newest addition to the hiking trail is the Eagle View Observation Tower. Closed toe shoes are recommended. Dogs on leash are welcome. Enjoy a scenic picnic at any lookout location but please take all garbage with you and respect any wildlife you may encounter during your outing.
